Things We Can’t Clean

As a professional cleaning company there are a lot of things that Sunshine Cleaning can clean. There is, however, a list of things we can’t clean for various reasons. We’ve tried to include the most common scenarios below but there could be additional things not found on the list. If there is a question on anything specific give us a call or contact us online.

Antiques, Knick-Knacks, etc.

Our employees are not allowed to clean antiques, knick-knacks, jewelry, silver ware, or anything else that is breakable. In many cases those types of items need some type of special equipment or training and if not done properly could be damaged or broken.

Bug-Infested Homes

Homes with insect infestations are not available for cleaning by Sunshine Cleaning Service.

Regardless of the type of infestation, cockroaches, fleas, bed bugs, or other types we can only offer our services once the homes have been fully exterminated by a professional company. In the case of bed bugs, professional carpet cleaning will also need to be done before we can enter and clean the home.

High Areas

Insurance restrictions limit us to some types of tools or accessories we can use. Our maids all have a simple two-step ladder and extending poles to reach higher places. So if things like ceiling fans and lights are beyond the reach of the tools we carry we cannot include them. We also do not wipe down or wet wipe light bulbs.

Carpet Cleaning

When it comes to flooring anything beyond sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming is something we cannot do. Carpet cleaning requires special equipment and proper training to make sure that the carpets are cleaned correctly and not damaged in any way. Our housekeepers do not carry the type of equipment necessary and are not trained for carpet cleaning.

Bodily Fluids

Our house cleaners are not equipped to deal with any types of bodily fluids, (pet waste, human waste, vomit, etc.) and will not be able to clean in those situations. 

COVID-19

We will not clean a home that has had a COVID-19 infected person present in the home within 14 days of the appointment.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us and many businesses to adjust how they operate to keep employees and clients safe. Even though COVID-19 does not transfer as easily through surfaces, we do not carry the proper equipment to disinfect the house. In order to complete such a task requires foggers, bodysuits, etc. and a properly trained professional.

Mold

Mold removal is a specialized type of service and can be hazardous to our maids as well as you, our client. Sometimes what looks to be a small, insignificant spot of mold could actually be the sign of a much bigger problem. We can recommend mold remediation services.

Dishwashers

Proper cleaning of a dishwasher requires pulling the dishwasher out, draining hoses, removing blades, and cleaning filters. It is a time-consuming task and not something our maids are trained to do.

Outside Windows

There are two reasons we do not do outside windows. The first is that we don’t allow our housekeepers to work outside in the Arizona heat for obvious reasons. The second is that outside windows can require ladders and special equipment to clean properly, none of which our maid carry.

Garages and Patios

Arizona heat can be excessive and cause health issues for our housekeepers. For this reason we do not allow them to do any cleaning outside of the house.

Construction Cleaning

Sunshine Cleaning Service is set up as a residential home cleaning service and is not equipped to do construction clean-ups. This includes if your home was just built or remodeled.

Pet Hair

Those of us who have pets love them but they can certainly leave a mess on your furniture and floors. Removing pet hair completely on upholstery requires special equipment, training, and time. We do have an add-on for pet hair available but this only covers the extra time it takes to vacuum and mop the hair up off the floors. It does not include upholstery or furniture.
